Lead Business Intelligence Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Business Intelligence Developer to shape and execute the data and BI strategy for a well‑established automotive retail and distribution company in Centurion. This senior position combines hands‑on development with people‑management, reporting directly to executive leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and maintain the company’s overall data and BI strategy.
• Design, build, and optimise Power BI dashboards and reports for executive stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor and grow a team of BI Developers and Data Engineers.
• Translate analytical findings into actionable business decisions.
• Manage data‑warehousing, data‑lake architecture and database design.
• Ensure data governance, quality and security compliance.
• Collaborate with the PMO, Executive Committee and departmental heads on reporting needs.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Information Systems or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in BI development, with at least 2 years in a lead capacity.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
