Key Account Manager – Pickup Trucks & Commercial Vehicle Sales

About the role

The client, a globally recognised commercial vehicle manufacturer, seeks a motivated Key Account Manager to develop and own relationships with fleet operators, logistics firms and corporate buyers of pickup trucks and commercial vehicles across South Africa. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, you will be responsible for driving volume growth and expanding the brand’s footprint.

Key responsibilities

• Own and achieve annual sales targets for the assigned region or industry segment.
• Conduct structured visits to existing and prospective key accounts to understand fleet needs and convert opportunities.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date customer information database covering all key accounts and prospects.
• Develop dealer and distributor capabilities, providing coaching and support to secure major client contracts.
• Deliver training to dealers on product knowledge, customer development techniques, sales skills and marketing communications.

Required profile

• Minimum 3‑5 years experience in truck sales, vehicle after‑sales service or a closely related field within the South African market.
• At least 2‑4 years of B2B corporate sales experience with a proven record of managing major client relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets through consultative selling and commercial negotiation.
• Strong understanding of commercial vehicle and pickup truck specifications, features and competitive positioning.
