Junior Tutors & Markers for LLB Programme

About the role

The newly established Law School seeks three Junior Tutors and Markers to support students in the accredited LLB programme. The role involves marking assessments, assisting in tutorials, and providing academic guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Mark assignments, essays, and exam papers according to provided rubrics and give constructive feedback.
• Assist facilitators in classes and tutorials, helping students grasp complex legal concepts.
• Offer one‑on‑one or group consultation sessions for coursework and exam preparation.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance and performance, and support administrative tasks such as preparing case summaries.

Required profile

• Completed LLB degree (or currently enrolled in an LLM) with strong academic performance.
• Prior tutoring, mentoring or teaching experience and solid knowledge of South African law.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems.
• Ability to explain complex legal concepts in an accessible manner.
