About the role

A growing AI-powered software company serving the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries is hiring a Junior Support Engineer. As the first point of technical contact, you will investigate customer-reported issues, diagnose bugs, implement fixes and explain solutions clearly. The role suits an early-career software engineer who enjoys debugging and working with modern web technologies, and is fully remote.

Key responsibilities

Learn the company's Next.js, React, Node.js and Supabase codebase quickly.
Reproduce bugs reported by customers and use AI-powered tools such as Cursor to find root causes.
Debug front-end and back-end systems, including APIs, databases and application logic.
Implement fixes in TypeScript and improve edge-case handling, reliability and performance.
Draft clear customer emails explaining issues, resolutions and next steps, and stay calm under pressure.
Work with product, QA and engineering teams to prioritise and resolve issues, and help with patch releases.
Update internal documentation, runbooks and knowledge base articles.

Required profile

Experience developing applications with JavaScript and TypeScript.
Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and own issues through to resolution.
Excellent written English and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Experience shipping software features or contributing to production apps is preferred; previous technical support or customer-facing engineering experience is an advantage.
