Junior Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Software Engineer to join our insurance‑tech team in Johannesburg. This hybrid position combines office collaboration on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with focused development work, offering a solid entry point into professional software engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with all phases of software design, coding, and testing.
• Learn and contribute to the existing C#/.NET codebase.
• Fix minor bugs and implement small feature enhancements.
• Gather client feedback on functionality and produce related documentation.
• Monitor system performance and support users with technical queries.
• Participate in development tests and code reviews.

Required profile

• Matriculation with at least 60% in Mathematics (non‑negotiable).
• Relevant IT degree (BSc Computer Science or BCom Informatics) – required.
• Honours degree is highly beneficial.
• Aspiration to become a proficient software developer.
• Basic programming experience at university level.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work effectively in a team.
