About the role
The Junior Organiser will support the Head of Western Cape Organising in developing and implementing strategic organising and campaign plans, assisting community leaders and youth facilitators, and helping grow and sustain the movement across school communities.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic organising and campaign plans.
- Support community leaders, facilitators and Equalisers (high‑school members) in youth organising.
- Grow and sustain the movement while assisting with stakeholder outreach.
Required profile
- Act as a role model.
- Strong commitment to and experience in organising and building communities.
- Interest in working with and developing young people from poor working‑class communities.
- Commitment to strengthening South Africa’s education system and addressing youth inequality.
- Must have matriculated.
- Experience creating safe spaces, facilitating stakeholder engagements and training youth on educational programmes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Ability to work independently.
- Computer literate.
