Junior Interior Designer / Architect

About the role

Novospace is looking for a motivated, passionate and detail-oriented junior to join its team. The role suits a less experienced candidate who wants to grow into the position, working on large-scale projects locally and abroad within a well-established practice.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the creative lead in developing conceptual presentations, communicating design concepts; producing high-quality renders in Enscape is advantageous.
• 3D modelling and rendering.
• Site surveys and as-built documentation.
• Design development, technical layouts and detailing.
• Interface with clients and consultants, and attend site meetings and liaise with contractors, under the oversight of senior staff.
• Liaise with suppliers and specifiers as required.
• Office administration: furniture and softs schedules, specification sheets, arranging supplier quotations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3-year degree in interior architecture or architecture.
• Minimum 1 year of industry experience.
• Ability to develop 2D drawings, layouts and detailing with accuracy.
• Excellent understanding of construction and joinery detailing.
• Good work ethic, time management and communication skills to meet project deadlines.
• Driver's licence and preferably own transportation.

Required skills

• High proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; SketchUp and Photoshop are highly beneficial.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office, with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint, to prepare FF&E schedules, finishes schedules and concept presentations.
