Junior Data Scientist

About the role

Discovery Health’s Data Science Lab is looking for a Junior Data Scientist to support the delivery of data‑science, machine‑learning, causal‑inference and AI solutions that improve member engagement, health outcomes and operational performance. You will work under the guidance of experienced data scientists, gaining exposure to cutting‑edge projects while building a solid foundation in statistical thinking, experimentation and AI‑enabled decision systems.

Key responsibilities

• Support data analysis, feature engineering, model development and evaluation.
• Build and refine statistical, machine‑learning and causal models.
• Design experiments and measurement frameworks to assess impact.
• Apply optimisation and AI techniques to healthcare and operational challenges.
• Contribute to AI‑enabled decision systems within a culture of measurement and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Early‑career data science professional eager to develop strong foundations in statistics, machine learning and causal inference.
• Ability to work collaboratively under mentorship and take increasing ownership of defined workstreams.
• Interest in applying data‑driven solutions to health‑care and insurance contexts.
