Junior Accountant & Tax Administrator

About the role

Huntlogic is seeking a motivated Junior Accountant and Tax Administrator to support its growing tax and accounting practice in Johannesburg. The role offers exposure to bookkeeping, payroll, tax compliance and financial statement preparation, with a clear path to lead a team of trainees as the firm expands.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain bookkeeping records using QuickBooks or Sage.
• Process payroll and handle statutory submissions.
• Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE and Income Tax returns via SARS eFiling.
• Provide tax compliance and administration for individuals and companies.
• Prepare annual financial statements using CaseWare or Draftworx.
• Reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies and keep accurate financial documentation.
• Communicate with SARS regarding queries and submissions.
• Prepare working papers and supporting schedules for financial reporting.

Required profile

• Diploma in Accounting, Tax or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting and tax.
• Practical experience with VAT, PAYE and Income Tax submissions via SARS eFiling.
• Experience preparing financial statements with CaseWare or Draftworx.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Professional, reliable and well‑organised with solid references.
