IT Manager - Remote First

About the role

This is the first senior IT hire across the Fieldtrip group of creative growth agencies, led by inBeat. You will make IT simple and scalable for around 200 people across the agencies, working fully remotely across 15+ countries. You will own IT end-to-end: tools, identity, vendors, BYOD posture and baseline cybersecurity and compliance, partnering with the COO, founders and operations team to build a function that scales.

Key responsibilities

• Own the IT function end-to-end: systems, identity, access, onboarding and offboarding, tooling and vendor relationships across all portfolio companies.
• Design for BYOD and distributed teams, and build a security posture suited to personal devices, contractor workflows and cross-border data.
• Rationalise the stack: kill shadow IT, consolidate overlapping SaaS and deliver visible monthly savings on tools such as Figma and Airtable.
• Set up identity and access management so people can work across companies without chasing permissions.
• Help delivery teams work faster and more centrally, with AI built into how work gets done, then review and improve what works.
• Put sensible baseline controls in place for BYOD and compliance, collaborating with a security consultant where needed.
• Turn tribal knowledge into runbooks, explain IT risk and trade-offs in plain English, and build a function that does not depend on you.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in IT functions in start-up or scale-up environments, including building one from scratch or restructuring it.
• Remote or hybrid experience supporting distributed teams.
• A builder mindset, the confidence to defend your decisions and clear communication with non-technical people.
• Nice to have: fully remote experience, BYOD support experience, familiarity with PIPEDA or other Canadian privacy requirements, exposure to SOC 2, ISO 27001 or similar, and prior multi-entity IT experience.

• Core stack: Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, ClickUp, Figma and AI tools.
