IT Helpdesk Engineer (Desktop Support) – 2 Positions

About the role

We are seeking two IT Helpdesk Engineers / Desktop Support Engineers to join our IT infrastructure team in Cape Town. The role focuses on providing first‑ and second‑line support, managing Active Directory and Exchange, and ensuring smooth operation of Microsoft 365 services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑ and second‑line support to users via phone, email, and in‑person.
• Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions in Active Directory.
• Administer Microsoft Exchange mailboxes, including setup and troubleshooting.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
• Configure and deploy PCs, laptops, and printers for staff.
• Record all work in the internal ticketing system and adhere to SLA targets.
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers and contribute to documentation.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics (Mathematics Literacy not accepted).
• Minimum 2 years of IT Helpdesk or Technical Support experience.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal transport.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.

Required skills

• Active Directory (user creation, password resets, group policies).
• Microsoft Exchange administration.
• Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive) support.
• Windows operating systems troubleshooting.
• Networking fundamentals – DNS, DHCP, VPN.
• Hardware and software troubleshooting.
• PC, laptop and printer deployment.
• Ticketing system usage and documentation.
