Inventory Clerk – Hotel & Conference Centre

About the role

Our client, an upmarket hotel and conference centre in Pretoria, is seeking an Inventory Clerk to manage, monitor and maintain inventory levels in line with procurement procedures. The role ensures accurate recording, safekeeping and availability of all goods, materials and supplies required for efficient, cost‑effective operation of the property.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and control all inventory items to ensure accuracy and accountability.
• Print and manage daily expected delivery schedules.
• Receive and enter supplier invoices into the purchasing system (e.g., Wanama).
• Assist with bi‑monthly and monthly stock‑count processes, including preparation, counting and reconciliation.
• Coordinate timely receiving, storing and issuing of goods, applying FIFO/FEFO methods.
• Provide transparent stock information to support forecasting and procurement planning.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent (essential).
• Diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management, Inventory Control or Procurement (preferred).
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in inventory or stores management, preferably in hospitality.
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport.
• English proficiency (written and verbal) and availability after hours and weekends.

Required skills

• Proficiency with inventory management software (e.g., Wanama or equivalent).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP or stock‑management systems.
• Familiarity with Micros, Materials Control or similar platforms.
