Internal Auditor

About the role

Discovery’s Group Internal Audit team is seeking an Internal Auditor to support audit engagements across the organisation. You will work closely with senior auditors to plan, execute and report on audits, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulations and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform audit fieldwork in line with the IIA IPPF, audit methodology and Pentana audit software.
• Assist senior auditors in preparing engagement letters, documenting system descriptions, risks and controls.
• Obtain business approvals for documented processes, risks and controls.
• Execute test procedures, draft working papers and maintain the Pentana audit file.
• Provide timely feedback to senior auditors, escalate issues, and confirm control weaknesses with business owners.
• Draft observations, rate findings and prepare first‑draft audit reports for review.
• Update audit software with findings and ensure all review notes are cleared before sign‑off.

Required profile

• Strong drive, sense of urgency and flexibility to adapt to changing audit priorities.
• Proficiency in the IIA International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), Code of Ethics and Standards.
• Ability to work independently while supporting senior audit staff.

Required skills

• Experience with Pentana Audit Software.
• Knowledge of audit methodology and IIA IPPF guidelines.
