Intermediate Product Designer

About the role

Capitec Bank is looking for an Intermediate to Senior UX / Product Designer to join its Merchant Solutions team in Stellenbosch. The role covers products that support merchants, customers and internal teams, from discovery through to delivery and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Solve complex customer and business problems through thoughtful design
• Conduct research and uncover insights that inform product decisions
• Design end-to-end user journeys and workflows
• Create wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs using Figma
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers and key stakeholders, and facilitate discussions and gather feedback
• Use testing, data and feedback to continuously improve experiences
• Contribute to design standards, best practices and design systems

Required profile

• Diploma in User Experience / User Design (minimum); a relevant qualification in UX/Product/Interaction Design, HCI or Graphic Design preferred
• At least 3 years' experience in UX Design, Product Design or a similar role
• Experience designing digital products from discovery to delivery, and creating user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and interaction designs
• Experience in cross-functional product teams
• Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
• A portfolio showing design thinking, problem-solving and end-to-end product work
• Clear criminal and credit record

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Figma
• Ideal: fintech, banking, payments, SaaS, platform or B2B experience; design systems and component-based design; user research and usability testing; Agile environments; accessibility and inclusive design
