Integrated Designer - Packaging & Branding

About the role

A boutique agency in Stellenbosch is looking for a mid-senior integrated designer with packaging and branding experience to join its growing team. The role leads the design of brand identities and packaging, working across print and digital platforms, with remuneration negotiable.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design process from initial concept to final delivery, meeting client briefs, timelines and quality expectations.
• Develop branding solutions such as logos, visual identities, packaging and other brand collateral.
• Attend client meetings and presentations to understand needs, explain design decisions and present creative concepts.
• Stay up to date with design trends, tools and technology.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in graphic design, visual communication or a related field preferred.
• 4-7 years of design experience with a strong focus on branding.
• Diverse portfolio showing branding and packaging; digital and print work is advantageous.
• Strategic thinking and strong conceptual skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and problem-solving abilities.

Required skills

• Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Understanding of web, social and UI design fundamentals
• After Effects and motion graphics/animation (a definite bonus)
• Knowledge of print processes and experience working with printers
• Strong understanding of typography, composition, colour theory and layout
