Integrated Marketing & Communication Specialist (Contractor)

About the role

Liberty, a prominent South African financial services group, is seeking a seasoned Integrated Marketing and Communication (IMC) Specialist for a contract-based, part-time position in Johannesburg. The role blends traditional marketing principles with modern digital delivery, keeping the brand's messaging consistent and compelling across all touchpoints. It acts as a bridge between business strategy and the end consumer, influencing executive-level stakeholders so that marketing contributes to commercial goals and brand equity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver IMC strategies aligned with the needs of the business unit.
• Manage the full lifecycle of marketing campaigns, from planning and media mix selection to performance analysis.
• Use marketing automation, CRM systems and analytics tools to improve campaign performance and customer engagement.
• Work with cross-functional teams so that advertising, PR and content marketing are integrated.
• Use data insights to measure campaign success with a metric-driven rationale.
• Oversee budgets and manage agency partners so deliverables stay on track.

Required profile

• Relevant first degree in Marketing, Business or Commerce.
• At least five years of experience in integrated marketing and brand management, specifically in financial services.
• Proven ability to engage and influence senior leadership and executive teams.
• Project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Digital channels: social media, SEO, SEM, email marketing and content strategy.
• Data-driven approach to interpreting analytics and turning them into business improvements.
• Presentation confidence and the ability to interpret complex information.
