Field Marketing Specialist - Johannesburg

About the role

The Field Marketing Specialist (FMS) supports the Field Marketing Manager in building the local face of Red Bull in the field, in line with global and national strategies. Working closely with the manager, the FMS builds local networks of opinion leaders and key influencers online and offline, and helps create and run marketing initiatives in student marketing, sports, culture and communications. The role is hands-on and varies depending on profile and regional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Take responsibility for a selection of marketing pillars such as university, sampling, sports, culture and communications, driving awareness, consumer trial and relevance across consumption occasions.
• Support the Field Marketing Manager in creating and supporting key events, scenes and marketing opportunities, and identify local heroes in relevant scenes.
• Help maintain a clean logistical system and always keep the consumer and brand perspective in mind.
• Develop, own and execute locally relevant ideas, support cross-marketing opportunities and lead the creative process for new ideas and stories.
• Drive efficiencies in programs, manage program tools, and source and hire Student Marketeers with strict brand fit.
• Lead and inspire a team of part-time employees.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of the core scenes in the region and strong networking skills, with established personal relationships in culture and/or sports.
• Experience leading teams and managing people.
• Strategic thinker who takes initiative and ownership, with leadership, motivation and team skills.
• Analytical, planning, budgetary and project management competencies, and a creative track record of turning ideas into practice.
• Excellent communication skills, including presenting and training.
• University degree preferred.

Required skills

• Valid driver's license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
