Industrial Sewing Machine Mechanic

About the role

An exciting opportunity is available in the Maintenance department for a Sewing Machine Mechanic to support our clothing production operations.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain a range of industrial sewing machines and allied equipment.
• Set up and test‑run sewing machines to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Conduct routine and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Coach learner mechanics and assist with departmental tasks.
• Collect technical data and manage preventive maintenance programmes.
• Perform folder repairs and other support duties.

Required profile

• 3–4 years’ experience in industrial sewing machine maintenance within a clothing production environment.
• NQF4 qualification in sewing machine repairs or equivalent (advantageous).
• Ability to work in a team, handle pressure and work additional hours when required.
• Proficiency in reading and writing English.
• Target‑driven attitude with quick turnaround capability.
