Income Auditor – Pre-opening Edition Hotel

About the role

The Income Auditor will support and audit the execution of Marriott’s control environment processes for the pre‑opening of the Edition Hotel in Cape Town. Working closely with departmental leaders, the role ensures accounting standards and audit procedures are consistently applied.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement accounting projects and audits across all hotel areas.
• Uphold Marriott audit policies, SOPs and quarterly/annual audit requirements.
• Provide training and guidance to department leaders on control‑environment goals.
• Generate accurate reports, presentations and analysis of audit results.
• Verify that audits are completed correctly, on time and in line with procedures.
• Maintain month‑end audit functions and ensure accurate profit‑and‑loss documentation.
• Support compliance with relevant fraud, collection and regulatory laws.
• Assist other units with budgeting policies, financial controls and resource utilization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (minimum 3 years).
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting, auditing or a related professional area.
• Strong understanding of Marriott SOPs, risk assessment tools and audit standards.
• Ability to analyse information, solve problems and meet reporting deadlines.

Required skills

• Financial spreadsheets (e.g., Excel) for data analysis and reporting.
