ICT Manager – Municipal Services

About the role

The Municipality of Beaufort West seeks an experienced ICT Manager to lead the delivery of integrated information and communication technology services, optimise business processes and support user productivity across all municipal departments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain ICT strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Provide operational support to ensure network connectivity for approximately 250 users.
• Diagnose, resolve and prevent software/hardware issues, including upgrades and repairs.
• Manage data backup, disaster recovery and licensing compliance.
• Oversee procurement, budgeting, asset and contract management for ICT equipment and services.

Required profile

• Relevant ICT qualification (NQF Level 6 diploma or Level 7 degree).
• Minimum 8 years post‑qualification experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Valid Code B driver’s licence and ability to handle physical tasks up to 20 kg.
• Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making and stress‑management capabilities.

• Networking and server administration (Microsoft and Linux environments).
• Database management, SQL and programming.
• Software development, telecommunications and network administration.
• Hardware troubleshooting, data storage management and backup/disaster recovery.
