Human Resource Officer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Human Resource Officer to join our expanding HR team. The role is ideal for a professional passionate about recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and delivering high‑quality support to employees and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full recruitment lifecycle: briefs, advertising, sourcing, screening, interviews, references, and onboarding.
• Draft employment contracts, HR policies, disciplinary and performance‑management documentation.
• Provide HR advisory services on employee relations, labour legislation and best practices.
• Chair disciplinary hearings and support grievance, incapacity and misconduct processes.
• Coordinate onboarding, induction, probation management and off‑boarding.
• Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and filing systems.
• Ensure compliance with South African labour laws (LRA, BCEA, EE Act, etc.).
• Prepare monthly HR, recruitment and client billing reports.
• Support B‑BBEE initiatives, including verification preparation and audit administration.
• Build strong relationships with employees, clients and external stakeholders and identify process‑improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resource Management or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in a generalist HR or HR Officer role.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices.
• Experience in recruitment, employee relations, disciplinary processes and performance management.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
