Human Resource Generalist

About the role

The Human Resource Generalist will support and execute key HR functions across Pedro's operations, acting as a trusted partner to both management and employees. This role ensures HR policies, procedures, and initiatives are effectively implemented to drive engagement, compliance, performance, and organisational growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment processes, from sourcing to onboarding.
• Handle employee relations matters, including investigations, counselling, disciplinary hearings, grievances and incapacity management.
• Oversee performance management cycles and employee development programmes.
• Coordinate training and development activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and South African labour legislation.
• Support payroll coordination and maintain accurate HR records and systems.
• Provide HR administration across multiple sites, particularly in quick‑service restaurant environments.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a HR environment covering multiple disciplines.
• Proven experience supporting managers and employees in operational settings.
• Exposure to labour‑relations processes such as investigations and disciplinary hearings.
• Experience maintaining employee records, HR systems and ensuring legislative compliance.
• Ability to work independently, influence stakeholders and take ownership of a broad HR portfolio.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation.
• Understanding of recruitment best practices.
• Knowledge of performance‑management and employee‑development processes.
• Familiarity with payroll systems.
