Human Capital Officer – Unionised Manufacturing (3+ yrs)

About the role

A leading pharmaceutical company is seeking a Human Capital Officer to partner with business leaders, ensuring the right people, skills and practices are in place to drive performance, engagement and sustainable growth in a unionised manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Advise managers on employee relations, performance, talent and employment law matters.
• Coordinate recruitment, selection and placement while ensuring compliance with affirmative action and employment‑equity policies.
• Develop and implement HR strategies, workforce planning and organisational development initiatives.
• Manage labour relations, supporting CCMA, bargaining council and labour‑court matters.
• Prepare and analyse monthly and quarterly human‑capital reports and key people metrics.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations or a related field; postgraduate qualification advantageous.
• Minimum 3–5 years of HR generalist experience in a unionised manufacturing setting, preferably FMCG or pharmaceutical with 200+ staff.
• Proven experience in talent management, organisational development, change management and labour relations.
