Human Capital Business Partner

About the role

The Human Capital Business Partner will implement and execute human capital practices while partnering with management to support business objectives. This role focuses on aligning people strategies with organisational goals and driving effective HR solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with business units to understand needs and develop integrated people plans and HR solutions.
• Collaborate with Human Capital, Group, and Enablement teams to optimise organisational design, effectiveness, employee engagement and retention.
• Partner with HR teams to deliver efficient, value‑added HR services aligned with business requirements.
• Facilitate sessions and educate employees and line managers on HR practices and processes.
• Measure employee satisfaction, analyse climate data and drive action plans to improve engagement and culture.
• Advise, coach and support managers on leadership activities, change programmes and performance management.
• Implement leadership development initiatives in partnership with OD, L&D and OE functions.
• Identify training and development needs and coordinate relevant programmes.
• Influence business decisions to ensure fair, efficient employee management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Behavioural Sciences or related field (essential).
• Honours degree in a relevant discipline (essential).
• 3‑5 years of human capital partnering or advisory experience across the HR value chain.
• Experience in the insurance industry preferred.
• Employee relations experience and familiarity with Workplace Skills Plans and Annual Training Reports.
• Registered Psychometrist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (essential).
• Registered Professional with the South African Board for People Practices (essential).
