HSE Coordinator

About the role

BIA Group sells, rents and provides after-sales services for equipment used in public works, mines, quarries and transport, operating across Europe, Africa and Asia. The HSE Coordinator promotes and implements the BIA HSE policy, safety culture and HSE system within their area of responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Promote occupational health and safety and ensure compliance with applicable legislation
• Help supervise accident and unsafe condition investigations, study causes and recommend actions
• Cascade lessons learned, best practices and standardise HSE practices, and coordinate emergency, rescue, firefighting and first aid teams
• Maintain hazard identification and risk assessment records and ensure controls are adequate
• Promote Job Hazard Analysis for non-routine activities, identify risks and train staff on standard operating procedures
• Ensure weekly inspections and equipment certification, and monitor and deliver HSE training
• Collect HSE performance data and produce monthly indicator reports
• Report incidents, participate in accident investigations and follow up on non-conformities
• Implement and audit the 5S methodology

Required profile

• Degree in Health, Safety & Environment, NEBOSH Diploma or another related discipline
• At least 5 years of professional experience
• At least 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience on mining sites
• Lead auditor qualification is an advantage

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
• Hazard identification, risk assessment and incident investigation
