HRIS Practitioner – SAGE 300 & ESS (6‑month contract)

About the role

The HRIS Practitioner will be responsible for maintaining and optimising the SAGE 300 and Employee Self‑Service (ESS) platforms. This six‑month contract role supports accurate employee data, secure access, reliable reporting and seamless payroll integration for HR operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and configure the SAGE 300 / Premier HRIS platform, including updates, patches and security controls.
• Manage employee biographical, occupational and payroll data, perform regular audits, cleanse records and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with HR and Payroll.
• Develop, generate and distribute standard and ad‑hoc HR and payroll reports, and analyse data to support decision‑making.
• Administer Employee Self‑Service (ESS) functionality, configure workflows for leave, approvals and onboarding, and monitor performance.
• Provide first‑line technical support, deliver training and create user guides for HR and line managers.
• Ensure accurate integration between the HRIS and payroll systems, supporting month‑end and year‑end processes.
• Support internal and external audits by supplying required reports, data extracts and evidence of controls.

Required profile

• Proven experience administering an HRIS, preferably SAGE 300 or similar.
• Strong attention to data integrity and ability to conduct data audits.
• Excellent analytical skills for reporting and trend analysis.
• Effective communication skills to train users and liaise with HR, Payroll, Finance and IT.
