HR & Payroll Generalist – Full‑time

About the role

The HR & Payroll Generalist will provide end‑to‑end payroll administration and comprehensive HR support to the business. You will ensure legislative compliance, improve HR efficiency and build strong relationships across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Process new employee documentation, terminations, transfers, salary changes, maternity leave, staff loans and other payroll amendments on the VIP payroll system.
• Reconcile monthly payroll accounts, manage IRP5 reconciliations, submit SARS filings and ensure timely payments of PAYE, UIF, SDL and Compensation Fund.
• Compile payroll and HR reports, maintain accurate employee records and support employee induction and exit processes.
• Partner with business units to provide practical HR advice, conduct employee engagement surveys and address employee relations matters.
• Maintain relationships with external HR and payroll service providers and monitor service level agreements.

Required profile

• Relevant HR qualification with 4–5 years of HR Generalist experience, including strong payroll exposure.
• Extensive experience using the VIP payroll system and solid knowledge of South African payroll and labour legislation.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with HR databases and reporting.
