HR Officer

About the role

We are seeking an organised HR professional with strong recruitment and industrial relations experience to support HR operations for a growing organisation in Johannesburg.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full recruitment cycle, including advert drafting, CV screening, interview coordination and pre‑employment checks.
• Coordinate onboarding, induction scheduling and employee documentation.
• Maintain accurate employee records, HR databases and provide administrative reporting.
• Prepare payroll inputs for new hires, terminations, salary changes and deductions.
• Assist with statutory reporting such as Employment Equity, Workplace Skills Plan, Annual Training Report and COIDA submissions.
• Handle injury‑on‑duty cases and related compliance reporting.
• Support disciplinary processes, grievances, misconduct investigations and coordinate hearings.
• Advise line managers on labour legislation and support CCMA or bargaining council preparations.
• Maintain training records and support development initiatives across the business.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an HR Officer or similar role.
• At least 1 year of experience in industrial/employee relations.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act).
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with HRIS platforms (advantageous).
