HR Officer (3 year contract)

About the role

The Division of People and Culture is seeking an HR Officer on a three‑year fixed‑term contract to support senior HR practitioners and the recruitment partner. You will deliver professional HR administrative services across multiple units, ensuring high‑quality, valued support for a large staff complement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR administration, focusing on electronic systems and processes.
• Support recruitment, employee relations, training, remuneration, performance management and well‑being initiatives.
• Operate across units reporting to the Managers of Recruitment and Staffing.
• Implement and maintain HR information technology systems to improve service delivery.
• Manage high‑volume administrative tasks for a workforce of at least 1,000 employees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Psychology, Human Resources or a related field.
• Approximately three years of relevant HR experience, including at least one year using an HR information system.
• Experience in a pressurised, high‑volume administrative environment.
• Exposure to multiple HR functions (recruitment, employee relations, training, remuneration, performance management, well‑being).
• Previous experience in the higher education sector is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR information technology systems (HRIS).
