HR Manager – Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR professional to lead the human capital function for a biotechnology company located in Pretoria East. The role offers a total cost‑to‑company package of R1 million per year.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HR support across the business.
• Partner with management to develop and implement people strategies.
• Ensure legislative compliance and strengthen organisational capability.
• Develop and implement HR strategy with executives.
• Manage recruitment, selection and onboarding processes.
• Handle employee relations including disciplinaries, grievances, incapacity, retrenchment and CCMA matters.
• Ensure compliance with labour legislation.
• Drive performance management, talent development and succession planning.
• Coordinate learning & development initiatives (including SDL).
• Oversee remuneration, employee benefits and payroll governance.
• Manage employment equity, skills development and BBBEE.
• Prepare and analyse HR metrics, management and statutory reports.
• Promote employee engagement and organisational culture.

Required profile

• Relevant Bachelors degree in HR or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of generalist Human Capital experience, including 5+ years in HR management.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry.
• Strong background in labour relations and CCMA representation.
• Good knowledge of South African labour legislation.
• Experience with employment equity, skills development and BBBEE.
• Strong analytical and HR reporting abilities.
• Experience in change management.
