HR Generalist – Manufacturing Environment

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join a well‑established manufacturing company in Johannesburg. The role partners with management to provide end‑to‑end HR support, ensuring compliance with South African labour legislation while driving people initiatives that enable business success.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full recruitment, onboarding and off‑boarding processes.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, grievances, disciplinary actions and labour legislation.
• Maintain accurate employee records and administer the HR Information System (HRIS).
• Coordinate payroll inputs and administer employee benefits.
• Drive employee engagement and wellness initiatives.
• Oversee Skills Development, including training needs analysis, learning interventions, WSP/ATR submissions and SETA reporting.
• Coordinate Employment Equity processes, committee meetings, reporting and transformation initiatives.
• Prepare HR reports and deliver people analytics to management.
• Support managers with HR guidance to achieve business objectives.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in manufacturing, engineering, FMCG or industrial settings.
• Proven experience managing Skills Development, SETA submissions and Employment Equity reporting.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA, Skills Development Act).
• Experience supporting payroll processes and HR administration.
