HR Assistant

About the role

Msuez UK, a global leader in waste and environmental management, is looking for a motivated HR Assistant to support its South African operations in Durban North. You will assist the HR team with day‑to‑day administrative tasks and help ensure smooth HR processes.

Key responsibilities

• Post job ads, screen CVs, schedule interviews and conduct reference checks.
• Maintain accurate employee records and update HR databases.
• Support onboarding by preparing offer letters, delivering orientation and handling paperwork.
• Coordinate training sessions, track attendance and assist with development programs.
• Help implement and maintain HR policies and procedures.
• Respond to employee inquiries and provide HR‑related support.
• Prepare HR reports and presentations as required.
• Assist with payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate payments.
• Maintain confidentiality of all employee information.
• Contribute to HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience in HR administration or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of HR principles and South African labour regulations (a plus).
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively and maintain attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with HRIS systems.
