Hotel Trainer – Hospitality Training Specialist

About the role

The Hotel Trainer joins the centralised Human Resources team of Oude Werf Hotel and Stellenbosch Hotel. Reporting to the Head of HR and the General Managers, you will champion a culture of service excellence by designing, delivering and facilitating training programmes across all hotel departments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual training plans aligned with operational standards.
• Conduct classroom sessions and on‑the‑floor coaching for permanent and seasonal staff.
• Create and maintain training materials, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and induction programmes.
• Assess learning outcomes, identify service gaps and introduce targeted interventions.
• Monitor training effectiveness and support compliance reporting.
• Collaborate closely with department heads and operational teams to ensure continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Hospitality, Training, Human Resources, Education or a related field (NQF 5).
• Assessor/Facilitator certification (advantageous).
• Minimum 3 years experience in hospitality training, guest relations, front office, food & beverage or hotel operations.
• Strong facilitation, coaching and presentation abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, assertive and results‑driven attitude.
