About the role
The Porter at Onyx Hotel plays a vital frontline role, ensuring guests’ luggage is handled efficiently and arrivals and departures run smoothly. This permanent, onsite position requires a calm demeanor under pressure and a strong focus on personalized guest service.
Key responsibilities
- Securely receive, store, and deliver guest luggage.
- Assist guests with rooming and provide directions as needed.
- Coordinate transport arrangements with Duty Managers.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the front office area.
- Support the front‑desk team during busy periods, including weekends and public holidays.
Required profile
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Reliability, teamwork, and a professional attitude.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Grade 12 or National Certificate qualification.
