Hotel Maintenance Manager

About the role

Our Cape Town hotel near White River is looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the facilities team and ensure the property runs smoothly, delivering a safe and comfortable guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all maintenance activities, including plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry and general repairs.
• Lead, mentor and evaluate the maintenance team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Design and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance programme.
• Plan, budget and coordinate projects to ensure timely and cost‑effective execution.
• Maintain tools, equipment and systems to the highest standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve maintenance issues promptly.
• Enforce safety standards and ensure regulatory compliance across all work.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a senior management role.
• Grade 12 qualification and relevant short courses in refrigeration, electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry or painting.
• Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is desirable.
• Strong leadership, planning and decision‑making abilities.
