Hotel Duty Manager – Heritage Wine Farm, Stellenbosch

About the role

Our client, a historic wine farm in the heart of the Stellenbosch Winelands, seeks an experienced Hotel Duty Manager to strengthen day‑to‑day execution, cross‑departmental coordination and visible management presence on the floor.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary operational link between Rooms Division and Food & Beverage during assigned shifts, overseeing arrivals, departures, VIP guests, reservations and events.
• Provide on‑duty support to the Rooms Division Manager and Executive Chef, coordinating activities across departments to maintain service continuity and guest satisfaction.
• Lead guest engagement on shift, resolve complaints and service‑recovery actions, and serve as the visible management presence on the floor.
• Make real‑time operational decisions, document incidents and escalations, and support heads of department with problem‑solving.
• Monitor compliance with health, safety and security procedures, and respond to incidents or emergencies.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years experience as a Duty Manager or in a supervisory role within a luxury 5‑star hotel environment.
• Proven knowledge of Rooms Division and Food & Beverage operations, with strong leadership, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Guest‑focused mindset, professional communication style and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
• Reliable transport and flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
