About the role
The Hospital Porter supports patient movement and logistical tasks within the hospital, ensuring safe and efficient transport of patients, equipment, and supplies.
Key responsibilities
- Transport patients between reception, wards, and emergency units, including wheelchair and stretcher assistance.
- Collect and record prescription cards, credits, and requisitions; deliver ethical and surgical stock securely.
- Move furniture, medical equipment, and specimens; set up venues for meetings and functions.
- Check wheelchairs for cleanliness and report repairs; assist patients on discharge to exits or vehicles.
Required profile
- Matric qualification and physically fit with ability to handle heavy boxes.
- Experience in customer service; healthcare experience is an advantage.
- Team‑player, responsible, meticulous and able to work under pressure.
