Health and Safety Consultant

About the role

Labournet is seeking a Health and Safety Consultant to join its Gqeberha branch. The role involves partnering with client management teams to design, implement and maintain occupational health and safety management systems across diverse industries. You will support the achievement of SHEQ objectives and provide ongoing feedback throughout project lifecycles.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on compliance with OHS legislation (OHS Act, COIDA, SANS, SABS) and mitigate operational risks.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans for each client engagement.
• Conduct safety audits and prepare project‑specific safety documentation.
• Draft and implement OHS policies, risk assessments, safe work procedures, incident investigations and emergency response plans.
• Facilitate safety committees, deliver OHS inductions and train client staff to perform regular inspections.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• NQF Level 5 Accredited Occupational Health and Safety Certificate.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• 6 months to 1 year experience in health and safety, preferably in a consulting environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
