Head of Training Department

About the role

As the Head of Training Department at Africa Drone Kings, you will lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of all drone‑technology training programmes. Based on‑site in Somerset West, you will ensure that learners receive high‑quality, compliant education that supports the company’s mission to advance drone use across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain curricula, learning materials and assessment tools for beginner to advanced drone operators.
• Manage training schedules, allocate resources and supervise a team of trainers and support staff.
• Ensure all training activities meet regulatory, safety and accreditation standards.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to identify emerging training needs.
• Report on training outcomes, analyse performance data and recommend process improvements.
• Contribute to strategic planning for the training function and support business growth.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading training teams and programmes, preferably in technical or aviation environments.
• Strong background in instructional design and curriculum development.
• Excellent organisational abilities to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Experience recruiting, onboarding and managing qualified trainers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training, Human Resources or a related field is advantageous.
