Head of Operations Africa

About the role

An established international engineering and technology group is appointing a Head of Operations for Africa, based in Johannesburg. Reporting to the regional Director of Operations, you will lead supply chain, procurement, inventory, warehousing and the sales desk. Potential and results count as much as tenure.

Key responsibilities

• Own end-to-end supply chain, logistics, procurement and inventory planning
• Drive availability, stock turn, OTD and order accuracy targets
• Grow the customer sales desk and electronic ordering
• Lead managers across warehousing, procurement and customer service

Required profile

• BCom Supply Chain or related degree; engineering considered
• Proven operations leadership across supply chain, warehousing or procurement
• Technical product distribution experience preferred
• Ability to hold teams accountable and keep them motivated
• Problem-solving approach that finds the root cause and fixes it

Required skills

• ERP-driven business processes; SAP is advantageous
• Inventory planning, imports and supplier performance management
• Data analysis and continuous improvement
