Growth Manager - Private Utilities (Entrepreneur in Residence)

About the role

Energy Intelligence (EI) is looking for an Entrepreneur in Residence – Business Manager to take ownership of its private utility management business, focused on prepaid electricity and water for residential and mixed-use complexes. The role combines portfolio management, business development and operational leadership, manages the existing client base and drives new growth. It is based in Century City within the Methys Venture Studio.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow the existing portfolio of private utility clients and act as the main commercial contact for managing agents, trustees and asset managers
• Ensure strong recovery ratios, operational performance and client satisfaction, and identify upsell and expansion opportunities
• Identify, pursue and close new private utility management opportunities, building relationships with managing agents, body corporates, property developers and asset managers
• Drive growth in prepaid electricity and water solutions and support pricing, proposals and commercial negotiations
• Take an owner's mindset, refine the value proposition and go-to-market strategy, and identify operational improvements and new revenue streams
• Work with support teams, coordinate with electrical suppliers, track performance metrics and report on portfolio health

Required profile

• 3-5 years' experience in utilities, with strong exposure to private utilities and prepaid electricity and/or water
• Solid understanding of the South African private utilities market
• Proven experience managing commercial client relationships
