Graphic Designer – Print, Layout & Brand Identity

About the role

CUBECOM, a South African space technology company, is hiring a full-time Graphic Designer in Stellenbosch. The role works with the Head of Marketing and Brand Management to build a strong visual identity, covering print, layout, corporate collateral and creative production. It is a hands-on design leadership position.

Key responsibilities

• Refine and establish the visual identity, roll it out consistently and maintain brand guidelines, reusable assets and templates
• Design brochures, product guides, technical datasheets, company profiles, reports and corporate collateral, applying typography, hierarchy and grid principles
• Prepare production-ready artwork, manage prepress, print specifications and supplier handovers
• Build professional Microsoft Word and PowerPoint corporate templates
• Design exhibition stands, trade show branding, large-format graphics, merchandise, packaging and advertising layouts, and extend the brand to digital templates, social media graphics and web assets
• Liaise with printers, fabricators and suppliers, and take projects from brief to final artwork within deadlines and budgets

Required profile

• National Diploma or BA in Art or Design with at least 5 years' experience, or 10+ years' experience with a physical portfolio if self-taught
• Experience in corporate document design, expo booth design, custom merch design and print production-ready design
• Significant experience in layout, DTP design and large-format printing
• South African citizenship or a valid work permit
• Preferred: digital design, social media, web graphics, animation or multimedia; preferred also: experience in an advertising agency, creative studio or multidisciplinary design environment

Required skills

• Full Adobe Creative Cloud, with strong InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Full MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Knowledge of print specifications, large-format graphics, exhibition branding, packaging and supplier requirements
• Project management tools such as ClickUp and Slack
