Full‑time Ballet Repetiteur

About the role

The Cape Ballet Africa company is seeking a full‑time Ballet Repetiteur to join its artistic team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will work closely with the Artistic Director and the ballet troupe to uphold the company’s high artistic standards and ensure the delivery of top‑quality classical productions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily rehearsals and support overall artistic operations.
• Coach, mentor and develop professional company dancers.
• Stage and rehearse classical ballet productions to professional standards.
• Preserve and maintain the classical repertoire.
• Collaborate with artistic, production and theatre teams.
• Assist with strategic planning, scheduling and health‑and‑safety compliance.
• Provide support during performance periods, with flexible working hours.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience working with traditional classical ballet repertoire.
• Proven experience teaching and coaching professional dancers.
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication abilities.
• Experience in diverse theatre environments and scheduling management.
• Fluent English and South African residency.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of classical ballet repertoire.
