Full Stack Developer – Hybrid, Cape Town

About the role

Our client, an established digital agency, is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join their engineering team in Cape Town. This hybrid, permanent position offers the chance to work on bespoke web and mobile solutions for a diverse client portfolio, collaborating closely with senior engineers, designers, and project managers.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain responsive, high‑performance web and mobile applications across the full stack.
• Write clean, well‑documented front‑end code using modern frameworks such as React or Vue, alongside strong HTML and CSS fundamentals.
• Develop robust back‑end services, APIs, and database integrations using PHP, Laravel or comparable technologies.
• Contribute to WordPress and Shopify builds as well as custom web applications tailored to client requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and technical planning sessions.
• Conduct self‑QA and testing to ensure deliverables meet agreed standards before hand‑off.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and account teams to align technical implementation with creative intent.
• Maintain version control discipline using Git and flag technical risks or blockers early.
• Stay curious about new tools, frameworks, and development approaches, sharing learnings with the team.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of full‑stack web or mobile development experience.
• Strong front‑end skills in HTML, CSS and at least one modern JavaScript framework (React, Vue or similar).
• Back‑end experience with PHP and Laravel or a comparable framework.
• Familiarity with CMS platforms such as WordPress or Shopify.
• Working knowledge of relational databases and REST API design/consumption.
• Comfortable with Git‑based version control and collaborative workflows.
• Attention to detail, commitment to quality, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Collaborative, solutions‑oriented attitude with clear written and verbal communication.
