Front Office Manager – Luxury Hotel in Hermanus

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Front Office Manager to join a prestigious luxury hotel in Hermanus. The role is ideal for a polished, guest‑focused hospitality professional who enjoys leading a team and creating memorable guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of Reception, Guest Relations, Porters and Night Audit.
• Lead, motivate and develop the Front Office team while maintaining luxury service standards.
• Oversee guest arrivals, departures, room allocations, VIP preferences and special requests.
• Handle guest feedback, concerns and complaints professionally.
• Collaborate with Housekeeping, Reservations, Food & Beverage and other departments for seamless service.
• Monitor room availability, occupancy, billing and payment procedures.
• Prepare staff rosters, conduct briefings, training and performance discussions.
• Act as Manager on Duty when required and support special projects.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Front Office Manager or Assistant in a luxury hotel.
• Strong knowledge of front office operations, guest service standards and night‑audit procedures.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
• Calm, confident under pressure and able to handle sensitive situations.
• Professional appearance, warm and naturally guest‑focused.
• South African citizenship or a valid work permit.

Required skills

• Experience with a recognised hotel property management system.
• Strong administrative, organisational and computer skills.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
