Front-End Software Engineer

About the role

We are rebuilding the frontend of one of South Africa's most widely used banking apps and are looking for an intermediate Front‑End Engineer to join the journey.

Key responsibilities

• Own features and requirements from understanding the problem through to delivery.
• Build and maintain React components and features that are clean, reusable and easy for other engineers to work with.
• Integrate frontend applications with backend services and APIs, and troubleshoot issues across the stack.
• Participate actively in code reviews, contributing to and learning from engineering standards.
• Contribute to the frontend rewrite and help shape a more modern, maintainable architecture.
• Work closely with engineers and stakeholders to deliver robust, long‑lasting features.

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong, hands‑on ReactJS experience.
• Good knowledge of JavaScript and modern frontend development.
• Solid understanding of frontend architecture and component design.
• Experience integrating frontend applications with APIs and backend services.
• A track record of writing maintainable, testable code within a large codebase.
• Comfortable working with Git and participating in code reviews.
• Ability to take ownership of work and see it through independently.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
