French Teacher (Secondary School)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated French Teacher to join Reddam House Durbanville, a premier private school offering a dual Cambridge and IEB curriculum. The successful candidate will deliver engaging French lessons to secondary students and contribute to a holistic learning environment. You will also collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and support extracurricular activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and present dynamic French lessons that inspire student participation.
• Create a nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes active learning and student well‑being.
• Assess student progress through exams, assignments and report comments, providing timely feedback.
• Respond to parent inquiries within 24 hours and maintain professional communication.
• Participate in school events, special occasions and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of teaching experience in a secondary school setting.
• Experience with Cambridge and/or IEB curricula is an advantage.
• University degree in a relevant subject and certified teaching status.
• Right to work in South Africa.
• Commitment to student development and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using ICT tools to enhance classroom instruction.
