Food Service Assistant - Fourways Kitchen

About the role

Icebolethu Catering is recruiting Food Service Assistants for its Fourways kitchen. The role supports the Catering Department and covers both internal and external candidates, including fixed-term contracts and casual staff.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure a high level of customer service within the area of responsibility.
• Complete all required checklists and perform related work as assigned.
• Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals.
• Care for catering equipment and leave the premises clean and tidy at the end of each shift.
• Report client complaints or comments to the team leader and carry out reasonable requests from management.
• Research and follow catering trends to promote competitive services.
• Comply with company and statutory cleanliness and hygiene regulations.

Required profile

• Grade 12; a relevant hospitality or catering qualification, or studies towards one.
• Practical, methodical work style, honesty and reliability.
• Good hand-eye coordination, ability to work quickly and safely, and good personal hygiene.
• No skin allergies to food or detergents.
• Good communication skills, teamwork, willingness to travel and flexibility to the job's demands.
• Able to bend, stand and lift.
