Food & Beverage Learnership (Gauteng)

About the role

This 12‑month Food and Beverage Learnership provides hands‑on training in hospitality operations across a range of service areas. Participants will develop practical skills in table service, drink service, buffet and function management while learning health, safety and customer service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Describe layout, services and facilities of the organisation.
• Maintain health, hygiene and professional appearance.
• Communicate verbally and build effective working relationships.
• Provide table and drink service, including wine, spirits and liqueurs.
• Prepare, service and clear buffet, carvery and function rooms.
• Clean, restock and maintain equipment, glassware and cleaning supplies.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and ensure a safe, secure working environment.
• Deliver first aid, on‑the‑job coaching and staff introductions.
• Operate payment points, process payments and handle refunds.
• Manage receipt, storage and issue of goods and maintain preventive maintenance programmes.

Required profile

• Ability to read and write for the purpose of submitting a Portfolio of Evidence.
• Commitment to a 12‑month learnership.
• South African citizenship with a valid RSA ID.
• Certified Matric Certificate.
