Fitness Instructor

About the role

The Fitness Instructor will inspire members to live active lives, promote Virgin Active’s world‑class fitness products, and help increase member retention through effective induction and ongoing fitness initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with members to support retention.
• Conduct fitness initiatives and programmes that encourage regular attendance.
• Adhere to all operational and administrative requirements.
• Ensure the health and safety of members at all times.
• Manage personal training and self‑development to stay current with industry trends.
• Promote and assist with ancillary products and services available to members.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• Industry‑recognised fitness qualification (essential).
• Minimum six months experience in a fitness environment.
• First Aid qualification with AED certification.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Experience in member service or customer service.
• People‑oriented, able to guide and support members.
• Adaptable, curious, and motivated to achieve success.
• Growth mindset, independent work capability, and trustworthiness.
• Ability to make decisions, take ownership, and act proactively.
